Frequently asked questions

FAQs

How long can I stay?

Stays start at a two-night minimum. Some holiday weekends require a three-night minimum. Stays of up to 29 nights can be booked directly online. For stays of 30 nights or longer, please contact us for availability and extended-stay pricing.

How do I pay?

You pay right on the site when you book, in two quick steps. First you save a valid credit or debit card with Stripe for the refundable $500 damage authorization, which is not charged at booking, then you pay for the stay itself by card or bank transfer (ACH). A card on file is required to complete a booking, even if you pay by bank transfer. Your dates are confirmed as soon as the payment goes through, and no card or bank details are stored on this site.

Is there a damage deposit?

There is a $500 refundable damage authorization, handled like a hotel incidental hold. It is not charged when you book. We keep your card on file and place a temporary $500 hold shortly before check-in. After checkout the hold is released in full unless there is damage or a violation of the house rules, in which case we may capture part or all of it. Depending on your bank, a released hold can take a few business days to disappear from your statement.

Is parking included?

Yes, off-street parking is included at no extra cost.

Can I work from the suite?

There's no dedicated desk, but each suite has a dining table that works well for a laptop. High-speed WiFi is included and works well for working remotely.

Are pets allowed?

Sorry, no pets. The property is not pet friendly.

Is smoking or vaping allowed?

No. Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere on the property, indoors or outdoors.

How does check-in work?

It's self check-in with a lockbox. Check-in is at 3:00 pm. Late checkout must be approved in advance.

How close is downtown?

One block away. Whitman College is about a five-minute walk.

Is it quiet?

The front of the house faces a busy street into downtown; the back opens onto a quiet alley.
